It was a red letter day in the history of India when the country got it's freedom on 15 August 1947. It took hundreds of years for India to break shackles of slavery. People of the country celebrate the festival every year with great pomp and show.

The formal programme was held on August 14. It celebrated by Nursery, Kindergarten section and Grade I and II students with great joy and zeal. All the students, teachers along with our honourable Guest Sr Evelyn Marie AC the co-ordinator for Nursery Section gathered in Mother Veronica block to celebrate Independence Day.
The cultural programme began with a prayer, sung by UKG A students followed by a welcome speech by Brenda of Grade I A.

Melodious singing captured the attention of audience on the theme "Mera Mulk Mera Desh " sung by Grade II A students. Spectacular dances were performed by vibrant students of UKG A, UKG B, and Grade II A on the theme "Jai Ho", "Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani" and "Nanha Muna Rahi Hu" highlighted the importance of the day.
Sr Evelyn Marie graced the occassion and emphasised the message on "Freedom" through various examples of day to day activites.

The importance of Independence Day was delivered by Alden of UKG B. The programme was compered by Durga and Smayan of Grade I B. The vote of thanks was proposed by Arham of UKG A.

Fancy dress competition was held for the students of Grade I and II that instigated in them the feeling of patriotism.

Many thrilling activites were conducted for the students in the classroom and outdoors too.
