Carmel School Moodbidri started by the Apostolic Carmel sisters in 2013 is a Minority Institution as per the Constitution of India, Article 30 (1). The Apostolic Carmel Congregation was founded by Mother Veronica of the Passion in 1868 and was established on St. Ann’s Campus Mangalore in 1870 with its main thrust being the development of women as persons imbued with deep faith in God and in them by providing sound Catholic Education. Over the past hundred and fifty five years of its existence the institute has expanded with a large number of educational institutions in India, Sri Lanka, Middle East and East Africa. In Karnataka under the auspices of the Apostolic Carmel Educational Society (R) it runs Post Graduate Courses, Degree/ P.U. Colleges, D.Ed. Colleges, Vocational Training Centers, Community Colleges, Aided/Unaided schools/High Schools, CBSE Schools, Special Schools, Preparatory Schools and Centers for Distant Education.

While fulfilling the Objectives of a Minority Institution for the education of this minority community our Institutions are open to all, irrespective of caste and creed. However in keeping with the aims and philosophy of a catholic institution we have a special concern for the disadvantaged and the marginalized sections of the society through our education.

 Presently Carmel school is doing excellently well in all spheres giving preference to the all-round development of the person through the following aspects.

• Through Faith Formation the students are encouraged to live a life of faith, face the challenges of life with a living faith in God and make the right choices and decisions in their life.
• As per Social Concern we foster a genuine and active social concern among our staff, students and their families thus helping to build a society of justice, love and peace also to develop a spirit of patriotism and responsible leadership for the service of our country.
• Under Intellectual Formation we encourage creativity and research in our apostolate contributing towards the thinking of education and experimenting with new methods and projects that would further our common goals.
• Under Emotional Development we maintain a balance and a positive outlook through the success and failures of life and thus strive towards excellence with zest and emotional balance.
