Christmas was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Carmel School, Moodbidri on December 23rd 2019. The entire school was beautifully decorated with Christmas tree, stars, crib and gifts. Christmas mass was celebrated at the school hall which was attended by all the catholic students. Christmas blessings were bestowed on everyone by the Christmas blessing prayer.

Christmas programme began with a prayer and welcome dance by the students. Our school Principal, Sr. Jyothi Saldanha and the chief guest Sr. Felcita A.C. were welcomed by the students with the bouquet of flowers. Students performed dances and sang carols, wishing everyone a very happy Christmas. The program was followed by a skit that gave a message of celebrating the birth of Jesus not just with outer grandeur but much more by preparing one’s own heart to accept each other with love and respect.

The chief guest in her message called upon the staff and students to imbibe the true spirit of Christmas by loving and sharing, in school, in family and in society. In the classroom, the students learnt about the spirit of giving and sharing and they exchanged gifts with each other. Several activities like Christmas card making, star making were organised by the school in which winners were given prizes.

While Santa came to greet everyone, all the students joined in wishing one another celebrating the day. It was indeed a joy filled day to one and all.
