Feb 25, 2021 : Carmel School CBSE Moodbidri organised a session on ‘Haavumattu Naavu’ (Living with Snakes) delivered by Ms. Spoorthi Shetty, Project Manager, ‘Haavumattu Naavu’ and Mr. Vipin Roy, Snakebite Educator for the students and teaching faculty. ‘Haavumattu Naavu’ aims to educate those who are most prone to snakebites in rural areas by raising awareness about preventive measures, the right medical remedies in case of snakebite and encouraging peaceful coexistence. Documentary movies were shown on the following: current snakebite scenario, personal safety habits to avoid snakebites, right snakebite first aid protocol approved by the World Health Organization.

The teaching faculty and the students benefited from the session as it was very informative, thought provoking and helped to create awareness about effective snakebite treatment measures among the participants.
