"Life is a journey that has different paths, but any path you choose, use it as your destiny". Keeping this thought in mind Carmel School CBSE Moodbidri organised a farewell programme for Class X students on 19th of March, 2022. The day commenced with a Thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration offered by Fr. Rakesh C.S.S.R. Fr. Rakesh in his address encouraged the students to imbibe good qualities and become light to others. At the end of the Mass, Fr. Rakesh made a special prayer for the outgoing students.
This was followed by the cultural programme at the school hall. Students of Class IX organised this farewell with great enthusiasm leaving a trail of nostalgia behind them. The outgoing students entered the auditorium holding little lamps and the atmosphere was filled with divinity. The programme began with a meaningful prayer service invoking God's blessings followed by welcoming the gathering with a graceful welcome dance by Class IX students. Weaving warm words of welcome and making every heart smile Arhan Vincent DSouza of Class IX welcomed the guests Sr Priya Maria Joint Secretary and Superior of Carmel Convent with a floral bouquet and the gathering.
After a cordial welcome, a short skit was enacted conveying the message of life. Fiona Dias and Lonisha Cutinha on behalf of Class X shared some of their experiences and fond memories of Carmel School and expressed their gratitude to the school. A farewell song was sung by Class X students. Dafny of Class 9 shared her experiences about their seniors and wished them well. A dance medley was performed which touched every heart.
The outgoing students were blessed and prayer was recited by the School Principal. They took pledge led by the Principal promising their loyalty and service to their alma mater. There was a touching movie presentation which featured most of the outgoing students from their earliest days of Carmel School. The school greatly remembered the best outgoing students in the field of extra-curricular activities and by handing over to them a token of love. School had conducted a few games for the students and the winners were awarded with certificates.
Sr. Priya in her speech asked the students to keep faith and trust in God, hold God in all the situations, respect one another and shine wherever they go. Mementos were offered to the outgoing students as a gesture of love and gratitude to each student.
The vote of thanks was rendered by Akanksha Nayak of Class X thanking the management, staff and her juniors for the love showered on them through this touching farewell programme. Alriya Jessica Dsouza and Niyathi Amin of Class IX compered the programme.
The entire programme was a grand success. The farewell came to an end with a sumptuous meal. The students departed with sweet memories that they would cherish forever.
